Tata Motors, India’s leading automaker in the electric vehicle segment, has officially unveiled its much-anticipated Tata Harrier.EV, a bold new entry into the premium electric SUV space. The first drive review, published today by India Today Auto, confirms that the Harrier.EV is “loaded to the gills with AWD and tech”, setting a new benchmark for the segment.
A New Chapter in Indian EV Innovation
With the Harrier.EV, Tata Motors continues to expand its EV portfolio under the Gen-2 EV architecture, offering all-wheel drive (AWD) capability—a first for a made-in-India electric SUV. The vehicle is built on the Omega-Arc platform, derived from Land Rover’s D8, ensuring a combination of ruggedness, performance, and modern design.
“The Harrier.EV is a commanding and well-balanced electric SUV, boasting instant torque, responsive handling, and a futuristic cabin experience,” writes the India Today Auto team.
Power Meets Intelligence
The Harrier.EV features a dual-motor AWD setup, offering enhanced grip and control across terrains, combined with advanced tech features such as:
- Full digital cockpit with a curved display
- AI-based voice assistant
- ADAS 2.0 with lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control
- 360-degree surround camera
- Connected car technology with OTA updates
While Tata Motors hasn’t confirmed the exact battery capacity or range, the Harrier.EV is expected to deliver upwards of 500 km per charge, along with DC fast-charging support and a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function—perfect for modern lifestyles.
Designed for the Future
From its signature LED lighting, closed-off grille, and aerodynamic profile, the Harrier.EV blends futuristic aesthetics with Tata’s bold design language. The interior cabin is plush, featuring premium materials, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof—marking Tata’s intent to position the Harrier.EV as a global-standard electric SUV.
Market Launch Anticipated Soon
The Harrier.EV is expected to hit Indian roads later this year, with Tata Motors planning to announce pricing and full specifications closer to the official launch. The EV is part of Tata’s broader strategy to electrify its entire SUV lineup and expand into international EV markets.
